FAQs

Some frequently asked questions:

1. Isn't Rotary just an old boys' club?

No! Rotary is open to both men
and women of all ages. We have many female members in our club.

2. Must I be a businessman or a professional to be eligible to join?

No! We welcome people from all vocations. To be eligible you need to have integrity and want to be involved in serving the community.

3. What exactly do you do?

We are a team of volunteers who want to contribute towards a better society. By using our different skills from our different vocations we are able to work in teams to achieve our goals. These include eradicating polio, furthering international understanding, and promoting high ethical standards.
We meet each week for dinner so that we can get to know each other better, listen to guest speakers and have fun! Projects and fundraising are hands on and you can be involved to the degree you desire!

4.How are your activities funded?

We raise funds through our financial contributions, raffles, barbecues and golf days, as well as other projects from time to time.

5. Are Rotarians paid?

No! All work is done voluntarily.

6. If I join Rotary, must I come every week?

No. You are encouraged to come as often as you are able.

7. How can I help?

You can help Concord Rotary in a number of ways. You can sponsor our golf days, raffles and barbecues, or come along to some of our projects and get your hands dirty! We could do with your unique set of skills! Alternatively, if you are too busy you might like to become a Friend Of Rotary. Contact us for more details.
