The Rotary Club of Concord meets for dinner on Monday evenings at Concord Golf Club. Meetings are at 6 PM for a 615 PM start and conclude by 8 PM. Visitors are welcome.
What are some of the some of the activities we are involved in at present?
Local community:
Supporting Concord Hospital patient transport with a patient transport vehicle.
Kokoda track memorial walkway.
Meals on Wheels.
Salvation Army Auburn bus.
Canada Bay Museum.
Involvement with McDonald College and Homebush Boys High School via youth programs (see below).
Youth:
Rotary youth exchange. We are hosting a student from Belgium for one year and have sponsored a student to live in Germany for a year.
Rotary youth leadership award. Leadership training for young adults.
RYPEN: Rotary youth program of enrichment.
RYDA: Rotary youth driver awareness.
PACE: Pacific Australia cultural exchange.
International:
Disaster relief through shelter boxes (survival kits for 10 people which are airlifted into stricken areas).
Polio Plus: the eradication of polio throughout the world.
Group study exchanges: an annual event where teams of adults experience work life and the culture of another country for 6-8 weeks.
Various local projects are undertaken each year within the community which are sponsored through fundraising and donations.
