We are proud to announce that not one, but two of our long standing members have been recognised in the Australia Day Honours List on 26th January 2020 and will duely be presented with an Order of Australia Medal (OAM).
MAnnounced in the Australia Day Honours List was the awarding of the Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia to Helen Susanne McCaffrey for Service to local government and to the community of Canada Bay.

As I have been promised by Helen a (reasonably) short bio. on her life in the very near future which will feature in an upcoming Channel, I won't go into the list of her achievements that secure the award.

Suffice to say "congratulation" Helen from us all, well done and equally well deserved.  Our club is all the stronger for your influence within its framework.

And there's more!

Dr. Meng Ngu, one of our more reclusive members (plainly because of his extremely busy life), was also awarded the Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia for service to medicine in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Meng is head of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Concord Hospital since 2015 also holding that position from 1987-2002.

Another remarkable asset to the community and the field of medicine, on reading his bio. of service I'm surprised he finds time to eat and sleep, but has expressed his hope to be more visible at Rotary in the future.
